Accessibility at Jackdraw
Our benchmarks measure how accessible other brands' digital experiences are — accessibility is consistently the weakest area we find. We hold ourselves to the same bar.
Our commitment
Jackdraw aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the technical standard behind the EU Accessibility Act (via EN 301 549) and equivalent to what our audits score brands against. We treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-off.
What we've built in
- Semantic structure & landmarks — a single, logical heading order per page and a
mainlandmark on every page. - Skip-to-content link — keyboard users can bypass the navigation on every page.
- Visible focus — a clear focus outline on every interactive element.
- Colour contrast — text and UI meet the WCAG AA 4.5:1 (and 3:1 for large text) ratios.
- Text alternatives — meaningful images and share cards carry descriptive alt text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Keyboard operable — the site is navigable and usable without a mouse.
- Reduced motion — animations are minimised for anyone who prefers reduced motion.
- Resizable, responsive — content reflows and remains usable when zoomed and on small screens.
How we check
This is a self-assessment, not a third-party certification. We test every page with an automated sweep built for this site — it measures text contrast against the composited background (so a tint over a card is judged as what it actually is), checks reflow down to a 320px viewport, and verifies landmarks, heading order, image alternatives and form labels. That is backed by a manual keyboard pass: tab order, focus visibility, and that nothing reachable by keyboard is hidden from assistive technology.
Automated checking has limits. It cannot judge whether alt text is useful, and it is no substitute for testing with a screen reader or with people who rely on one. We are explicit about that rather than claiming more than we have verified. If you use assistive technology and something does not work, telling us is the fastest way it gets fixed.
Known limitations
A few components are provided by third parties and are outside our direct control: the Stripe checkout used for purchases, and the LinkedIn insight tag. These vendors maintain their own accessibility conformance.
Our report PDFs are not fully tagged. The benchmark reports are exported from LibreOffice, which does not preserve reading order or image alternatives in the PDF. Every chart’s finding is also written out in the slide copy, so nothing exists only as a picture — but if you need a report in an accessible format, email us and we will send the findings as structured text. If any of them create a barrier for you, tell us and we'll find another way to help you complete the task.
Tell us if something isn't working
If you hit an accessibility barrier on this site — or need a report or information in a different format — email hello@jackdraw.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve genuine barriers promptly.
